Exciting news – we are hoping the Isle of Wight Festival of the Mind will become an annual event on the Island.

The Festival’s objective is to help improve the mental wellbeing of Island residents.  At any one time there are many people on the Island that suffer from mental ill health and this Festival provides a unique opportunity for anyone to try out new activities in a safe and supportive environment, which could potentially lead to greater happiness in their lives. To enable us to continue with this work we have formed a company called ‘Wight to be Happy’ with the intention to apply for Charitable Status.

This year, we are planning to hold the event at The Riverside Centre in Newport on Sunday 6th October, so if you enjoyed the event last year and intend to come again, please do keep this date free.

The event will be run along similar lines to last year, but with some additional new things available to try out and, as last year, participation in all the activities will be absolutely free.

We appreciate your feedback from last year and will be taking your comments into account as we start organising this year’s event.

Again many thanks for your ongoing support.

Our first Festival of the Mind was a great success

Thank you to everyone involved in running this year’s Festival, Everyone who helped advertise, helped on the day, taught,  ran a stall,  or helped in any way at all.  We are very grateful for your input.   Thank you also to everyone who attended the workshops and if you enjoyed it please tell your friends.

The feedback we received was amazing and we are planning to hold the event again next year at The Riverside Centre, Newport.

Save the date – next year’s event will be held on:

Date: Sunday 6th October 2019
Venue: The Riverside Centre, Newport
